Don’t let a commercial holiday dictate your emotions. Be single. Enjoy it. Buy yourself a gift. Get flowers or your favorite cologne. Love yourself. Or call your best friends up, or your sibling, parents, grandma, etc. Tell them you love them. Tell your pets you love them. Hit the gym. Just don’t mope about being alone. Being alone and loneliness are two very different things.
This is the first time I’ve been in a relationship on Valentines in nearly 4 years. That’s right. 4 years. That’s almost half a decade. But even so, every year, I’ve loved Valentine’s all the same. Doesn’t matter if you’re single, taken, heartbroken, whatever the situation is. Having love in your heart is what’s most important. And I have a lot of love to give.
My boyfriend came over with takeout and I had a lovely chocolate cake ready to be devoured. Candles were lit, music was playing, gifts were exchanged as well as playful kisses mixed with bedroom eyes. x
Happy vday. Love each other. This world could use a lot more of it.
